Shelter In Place
$25.00
Shelter In Place is an unconventional mystery novel in which a widowed, prematurely retired teacher in retreat from the world forms a bond with an eleven-year-old boy who lives in the same house where he rents a room. When the boy goes missing, Jake, believes the secrets the boy has shared with him will help him solve the mystery of his disappearance. His quest sets him at odds with police, neighbours, and family, and forces him to confront the abuse, violence, and fear that lurk beneath the veneer of the peaceful street where he has sheltered, as well as the losses in his own life that had driven him there. The novel explores the tragedies that can afflict everyday life, and the possibilities for redemption that can still be found.
Peter Paulseth is a retired teacher and school administrator who writes in a variety of genres. He is living in Toronto and enjoys the support of his extended family.
