Mr Lumberjack captures the life and times of my father Hector Clouthier Sr from 1916- 2003. It follows his remarkable journey in the forestry business from cross-cut saws , work horses , sleigh hauls , log drives to power saws , feller bunchers , trucks , skidders , excavators and of course the hunting , trapping and fishing that go hand in hand with the bush . Family was important to Dad and together with Mom they raised ten children on the family farm in the Upper Ottawa Valley. It also speaks to Dad's passion for horse racing culminating with his induction into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame as a Legend. For good measure he built and owned the Northwood Hotel. There are many interesting and historical stories associated with all of the above including the people, places and events that shaped Dad's life .
